New Tic-Tac camera house

Robbe Sea Wolf V2Posted by xilsoe Aug 25, 2012 11:43:53
As I mentioned earlier I want to try to angle the camera view a little downwards. To do this I am going to try out using the light refraction in water.

I did some theory on this in this post: http://heliblog.moller-ilsoe.dk/#post367. I wanted an angle of 30 degrees which means that the glass needs an angle of 39,9 degrees as mentioned in the post above. I don't believe I can make an angle that precise so I have made some approximations during the construction.

Here are some pictures of from construction:

The angle is made in 2mm polystyrene and the front is 3mm plexi glass. I painted the inside of the angle flat black to reduce reflections inside the camera house.

Currently I am testing the house for being water proof. That's why I put the nuts inside as shown in one of the pictures. The next thing will be to try it out with a camera inside.
